In this list, we celebrate the stories behind some of the best influencer-owned makeup collections – after all, who better to inspire us to mix beauty vlogging with business?

Laura Lee

Since starting out with a contouring video on YouTube in 2013, Laura Lee’s fanbase has grown to over 4m subscribers, plus 1.9m followers on Instagram. And her beauty expertise extended past online to in-store last month, as she launched her first eyeshadow palette as part of beauty line Laura Lee Los Angeles. Vegan, cruelty-free, and ‘pigmented AF’, Cats Pajamas (as she’s called it) features 10 shades, from gold and bronze to maroon and plum, in both matte and shimmer finishes. Tanya Burr

Beauty expert, Glamour cover star, Global Goals Ambassador, and since 2014, makeup entrepreneur: Tanya Burr has almost 4m YouTube subscribers and over 3m followers on Instagram. Currently, the complete Tanya Burr Cosmetics line is only available in Europe, but you can pick up her perfect nude lipsticks and other makeup products online at Feel Unique. Kathleen Fuentes

With over 3.5m YouTube subscribers and 1.9m Instagram followers, Miami-via-Cuba vlogger Kathleen Fuentes (@kathleenlights) ventured into the beauty business in late 2016 with her own nail polish line, KL Polish. Huda Kattan

Of course, no beauty influencer business list is complete without mentioning one of the most influential social-media personalities in the world. By now, you’ll already know Huda’s story, and how she launched her makeup brand Huda Beauty in 2013, but have you heard the latest news? CNBC reported that Huda ‘is shopping a small minority stake in her company with the help of investment bank Financo… The business has roughly $100 million in sales and is looking for a financial partner to help continue its growth.’

But why is that such a big deal? Already Huda’s reach far outnumbers some of your favorite makeup brands, like Too Faced and NYX. A valuation of this kind will only further confirm her influence – and the potential for all entrepreneurial influencers out there. Watch this space.
